Jim Corbett National is divided into five major eco-tourism areas namely Bijrani, Dhela, Jhirna, Durga Devi and Dhikala which are prominent in all these areas. There are forest rest houses inside all these areas where tourists can stay and fully enjoy their forest experience. Each safari area has its own charm, beauty and landscape with vibrant fauna and flora.
This national park is famous for the national animal of India, the tiger. Many other types of big cats like leopards and jungle cats are found here. And the landscape here is home to other Indian animals like elephants, sloth bears, jackals and four types of deer like sambar deer, spotted deer, barking deer and hogs. Apart from the otters living in the rivers here, crocodiles and gharials can also be seen commonly. There is also a rare species, the yellow-throated martin. The tourist season usually runs from mid-October to mid-June and the park remains closed due to heavy rainfall in the monsoon. Here safari can be enjoyed in gypsy and canter.
